TOK.tv launches the official app of Rakuten’s Vissel Kobe in Japan

San Francisco, May 18 2018 – TOK.tv just announced the launch of the Vissel Kobe’s official mobile application. Vissel Kobe is Rakuten’s soccer team, playing in the top division league (J1 League) in Japan.

TOK.tv has been in charge of the full development of the app (available for iOS and Android), which is also powered by TOK.tv social features, allowing Vissel Kobe’s fans to talk while they watch the games, send stadium sounds and take social selfies.

The Vissel Kobe team is owned by Rakuten, Inc, a global leader in internet services that offers services in e-commerce, fintech, digital content and communications to more than 1 billion members around the world. Rakuten is also known for being the main sponsor for some of the world’s greatest sports clubs. (https://global.rakuten.com/corp/about/sports_entertainment/)

“Rakuten was looking for the best worldwide partner to launch the new mobile app for Vissel Kobe. The experience of TOK.tv with the best clubs in the world, plus their focus on social fan engagement made it the perfect choice. Both the TOK.tv and the Rakuten team worked hard together to make this happen, and I am really proud of it. I hope to see more collaboration in the upcoming future.”, said Shinji (Sandy) Kimura, EVP of Growth Strategy at Rakuten USA.

The partnership with Vissel Kobe reinforces TOK.tv’s plan to globally dominate sports, starting with soccer. While TOK.tv has now reached over 30 million users with international partners such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, the Vissel Kobe app represents a first for the company in Japan.

It is also part of TOK.tv’s expansion into Asia, started in 2017 with the launch of the official Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Juventus applications in China, along with the integration of the TOK.tv social features in the apps of Beijing GuoAn, Tianjin Teda, Shanghai Shenhua and the Chinese Super League.

“The partnership with Vissel Kobe represents another big step in TOK.tv’s path towards worldwide domination of soccer and the result of years of experience in mobile fans engagement. We are excited and proud to have been selected as the exclusive partner”, said Fabrizio Capobianco, TOK.tv CEO.

TOK.tv is now moving towards the Token Television, leveraging its experience in the sports watching field to a brand new level, thanks to the creation of the first decentralized sports viewing, social engagement and streaming application built on the blockchain.
